Catching up from the weekend

Dallas was put to sleep in his big boy bed, in his room every night last week...except the weekend. It's hard to stay on a schedule and a routine on the weekend. We are going nonstop and this mama is worn out at night!! So, tonight is back to his room. We had such an incredible weekend. I picked my Aunt Niece up from the airport Saturday afternoon. She came in for Dallas' 2nd birthday party and we wanted to surprise my Mom! It was perfect! Mom had no clue, and I even managed to keep it from my two besties (who were also surprised!) Saturday afternoon was spent by us girls preparing food for Dallas' party the next day. I have to admit I am SO blessed to have two of the very best friends on earth!! They keep me grounded, listen to my shenanigans and love me unconditionally! I don't know what I would do without them!! I don't tell you as often as I should but, I love you girls!! Saturday night, Lance took Destiny and Arielle to the Daddy/Daughter dance. They danced the night away, came home with shirts and prizes! I cant wait to get the group pic they take every year. I love looking at how much the girls have grown!

Dallas and I enjoyed dinner with the Poe's, my Mom, Aunt Niece, and the little Smith's at Saltgrass steakhouse, YUM!! Sunday was birthday party day!! Destiny, Arielle and I made the sandwiches while Lance and Dallas packed the car. I was ready to display my creativity at the park, no such luck! It was absolutely PERFECT weather for an outside birthday party, but far too windy for my little paper products. I had to just leave them in the car! I was disappointed, but I just wanted to enjoy the day with my Son and our friends and family! We had a bounce house at the park, and some snack food...mostly things The Very Hungry Caterpillar eats in the book. Our day was perfect in every way, and I couldn't be more pleased. Dallas opened TONS of presents! He thinks everyone of them is a car though. He did seem very thankful, and was ecstatic to finally get toys out of the boxes at home!! Our evening was spent putting gifts away and washing dishes while Dallas napped. I did decorate a small area with the items not displayed at his party...simply for my own pleasure and enjoyment! All in all, we had a fantastic weekend! We are blessed beyond belief and I am so thankful for every day I spend on this earth with the most amazing people!

Night 2 Of Transition

So here goes night 2 of transitioning Dallas to his own toddler bed and witholding breastfeeding! He is a young 2, but nevertheless, he is 2! Nutritionally speaking, he no longer needs it. According to Dallas, it's the end of the world without it. Last night consisted of Mommy reading books to Dallas in his bed then finally patting his back to sleep. (Only took about 30 Minutes) He woke up an hour after he fell asleep. I pat him back to sleep, and after this next time...sure enough I gave in! What's a girl to do?!?! That Momma's little boy, my whole world! And quite frankly I enjoy him snuggled up next to me, and seeing his precious face first thing in the morning. I have a feeling Daddy & I won't be missing out on the nightly kicks to the face, or rearranging our bodies around a sideways sleeper!! However, we have a cruise to look forward to at the end of April, and sweet Dallas has to survive without chi-chi! Tonight when I put Dallas to bed, he climed up there just as if this has always been our bedtime routine. I was so proud for him to go willingly. Once again, we read a few books, then I patted his little back and watched his eyes gently closed. He drifted off to sleepy town like a champ. Although its just as hard on Daddy and myself, we shall see how long we can make it. I already miss that little stink, hence the reason I'm blogging about him for the first time in 2 years! :) I know hes only in the other room, sleepy soundly...but I live and breath this kid. We spend 24-7 together so a few hours without him feels like eternity! Ive got to get some sleep to remain strong for when he wakes. Goodnight :)
