Laundry Day!!

I am STILL playing catch up from our trip! I have done load after load of laundry!!! Sheets, blankets, towels, clothes, clothes and more clothes!!! I have been setting things aside to iron and also included things that need to be ironed for Just Between Friends!!! My Mom gave me a rolling type rack to use since she redecorated her laundry room! I have been purging Dallas' closet and hanging those clothes on my new rack! He had got WAY too many clothes and not enough space!!! It doesn't help that I have a shopping problem!! I have been very picky lately and only shopping for my favorite things! I received an email back from Stacey at Just Between Friends, she is going to take a look at my blog. I am so excited to volunteer for something new! I have so many avenues I want to explore here recently, I am trying to keep my ducks in a row! Tomorrow morning I am getting up at 5:45 to make my girls bacon & eggs! Then taking Dallas to a play date with Natalie & Kaelynn, Deborah & Madi. I also promised to take my Father to his doctor appointment at 1:00, so it's a full day! I also plan to record my entry video to Spout's Host Hunt!! :)

Arielle informed me at dinner that one of her cheer coach's quit. I have been unhappy with their practices & routine thus far, so it's almost like a blessing in disguise. I will email tomorrow and see if there is anything I can do to help out :) The older Dallas gets, the easier it is to volunteer my time to accomplish things I thoroughly enjoy!!

Today was busy, busy as always...but here is a picture of Dallas at Target earlier

He LOVES their popcorn! When I pull up, he says, "Target?!?" "Popcorn!!!" It makes me laugh! He is pretty smart and his personality melts my heart! He can be a little spit fire but is so caring and convincing! He will repeat the same phrase numerous times until you understand him, acknowledge him and make it happen! :) He is a determined little guy!!

Arielle's First Game of the Season

Arielle switch from Black to Gold this year in cheerleading. They are both Royse City but two completely different teams (it can get kind if confusing!) This year, she also moved up to the Junior squad which is 5th & 6th graders. She had her first game Saturday against Community Braves.

Uhhhh, this girl is such a mess!!!! I just love her to pieces!!!! She reminds me so much of myself as a child and now all wrapped into one little burrito!

John, Shannon and Presley came to her game to watch her cheer. They are so supportive and I am thankful for Arielle to have them as such active positive roll models...In ALL of my kids life!

Jam packed weekend

What a JAM PACKED, FUN FILLED weekend we had!!! :) Saturday afternoon was Dave & Busters for John Poe & Shannon's little sister Elizabeth. Here are some pretty cute pictures I got:

Can I just say how much the last few pictures mean to me?!?!? I am so thankful and incredibly BLESSED Dallas has his Uncle John & Aunt Shannon in his life!!!! They aren't blood related but they treat Dallas no different. He loves the Poe family so very much, shoot...we all do!! I am honored to have them as his God parents!! These pics are just glimpses of real life, and I am so glad I captured these moments. Its like these little snap shots symbolize the big picture...of life. They are there to guide him, help him, catch him if he falls...and I know they will always be there for him! It takes a village to raise a child, and I am a firm believer in that! :) They are both such amazing people and I can guarantee they are raising little Presley to be no different!! Presley is such a sweet, sweet baby! I enjoy spending time with her and making her laugh! Her laugh brightens my day! Her little smile is infectious, you can't help getting excited and hoping to keep her grinning! I could just sit and play with her all day!! (If Dallas would let me! He tends to be very needy still!!) I am gracious of the time I get to spend with her and my favorite little niece Makenzie. I am totally loving being an Aunt. It's a great feeling!! :) I love hearing Kenzie say Koko. It's one of the cutest things I've ever heard!! I love hearing Kenzie laugh at something funny! She is so smart and expressive! Sweet Kenzie is very girly and I am thankful I live just right down the street from her. I get to see her at least once a week, mostly more though. These babies are growing WAY too fast for me!!! I feel special to be able to see them all grow up and stay close with them though! This is what's going down for Kenzie's new room!! Worked on taping off squares, for chevron stripes. I'd do anything for Kenzie girl and I can't wait to find out what Jennifer & Scotty's gender of baby #2 is so we can work on the baby room :) so exciting!!!
WOW--talking about going 90 miles and things being so jumbled in my head! I just skip around...try to follow along! Lol...

Sunday we went to a new consignment sale called, Rhea Lana's. It was in Frisco at the Frisco Discovery Center. That place looked really cool, and I would like to take the kids back! Anyway, inside the consignment sale, space seemed limited. The clothing was on round racks instead of long rows like at Just Between Friends. I prefer the rows so I know where I start and can knock out going though top & bottom racks simultaneously, in the same size. Although, I have to admit...the older Dallas gets, it is slim pickin's for "used" cute stuff. I think boys just wear through their clothes more than girls??

Then followed that up with a baby shower for Juan & Vanessa in Plano. They had amazing food and a yummy "spiked milkshake." Shannon and I tried that, and surprisingly, it was really good!

Anywho, gotta catch up on my zzzz... Sweet dreams blog world!! Thank you Lord for such healthy, caring kids...we are truly so blessed, AMEN!!!!

Hump day indeed

Oh what a day! Dallas threw the BIGGEST and LONGEST fit I've ever witnessed today!!! I will no longer have the same feelings or cringe when I hear another child screaming in a store. Today was crazy nuts!!!! It opened my eyes to things I hadn't yet experienced. Literally, my Son screamed at the top of his lungs in the car from downtown Rockwall all the way to Brookeshires (while I was trying to get my medicine from the pharmacist) screamed for the drive over to Hobby Lobby, then ALL the way through the frame section while trying to get a shadow box. Dallas had arms swinging...legs stiff as a board. He wanted down, he wanted up, at one point, my glasses flew off my face during his fit! His face was red and he was mad like fire...nothing I did could calm him, or just get him to stop screaming! It was pretty embarrassing, and I don't normally get embarrassed easily. He got spanked several times, ignored, shushed, squeezed... Countless, hopeless attempts at just trying to get him quiet. A manager walked by and asked if he was 'okay' I wasn't sure what kind of question that was?!?! Lol, it was pure pandemonium...did either one of us look 'okay??' That kid needed a tranquilizer shot before he hurt himself or someone around him. lol, I was anticipating the Rockwall sheriffs department or Child Protective Services at any moment.

Then in the next store, he was a completely different kid--sweet as pie to the cashier who asked how our day was! I know she didn't believe me when I clued her in on my last 30 minutes. Our afternoon had turned around, and I wasn't going to let this 2 year old win!! I was determined. We enjoyed a late lunch at Chick-fil-a, then came home to rest! (I needed some quiet time after all of those shenanigans and new wrestling moves i was trying!) We watched cartoons as now it was too late to take a nap! When Daddy got home, we headed to the pool for a swim as a family! Dallas was so well behaved and using his manners like a grown man!!! We had fun! We got home, I bathed Dallas and then heated him up leftover baked potato soup and a hot dog! (he asked for that...said he wanted to dip his hot dog in his soup!) He played for a little bit in the living room with his monster trucks when I noticed a stench seeping from his behind!!! Well, wouldn't you have guessed that started him on another fit! I picked him up and brought him to my room to change his diaper. Just then, Dallas uttered a few words that I will try to forget, but broke my heart! He shouted, "DON'T BEAT ME!! Then screamed, "DON'T TOUCH ME!!!" I'm not sure what 2 year old yells such craziness to his Momma!! He can be very dramatic (no clue as to where he gets that) and super funny...but that little 2 year old that I was so determined not to win...won tonight!!! I was mentally and emotionally exhausted from the day we had! I changed him, laid down next to him, patted his back to sleep and wept like my first dog just died. I was already unsure if I was doing the right things earlier...are people staring at me because I need to spank him, or are they judging me because I DID spank him?!? So much pressure on us Moms these days!!! I felt awful when he said that tonight. I chalked it up as being a long day and we both needed to go to bed. It hurt, but he needs guidance and structure. I just hope I'm doing the right things and he doesn't hate me when he's a grown up! :( I love Dallas so very much and hope we get through these fits soon!! Today was enough to last a lifetime!!! Tomorrow is a new day and I am thankful for learning a new lesson! (Don't be so quick to cringe when I hear a child screaming in a store, I don't know the circumstances...nor how the Mom or child is feeling!!!) a day in the life of Korie Smith is pretty darn crazy! Thank you Lord for this luxurious life I lead! I am so blessed to be able to stay home with my kids!!! I have such amazing friends & family who love me unconditionally!!! I can't complain! :) life is good, just cray cray sometimes!!

Bucket list:

I am entering myself in the Sprout's search for a new host contest. What do I have to lose?? I heard it in the background recently, but tonight as I listened again...I truly considered it. After reading the rules and guidelines, I'm going for it. I have to submit a 2 min video introducing chica (co-host), singing the birthday song, and a few other age appropriate things.

I have always wanted to do something like be a cartoon voice or something along those lines. This seems right up my alley! Dallas and I watch sprout every single night. It's a network I truly believe in, and try to get friends & family to tune into! My background is with kiddos, and I feel I would be great at this! I am super excited about preparing my video. I want it to be good, but not sure how to go about it! I want to stand out & be different, but not so that they skip over me?!?

I got a good run in today :) Close to an hour and about 3.5 miles.

I know I can get healthier if I put my mind to it. I JUST LOVE TO EAT!! Lol, but I don't mind a little hard work. Maybe I can manage the both of them. Lance and I have had a great week! We are being more considerate of each others feelings. I am super sleepy and have a big weekend planned. Pictures with Snap'd Photography by Tamera Saturday afternoon and the Ringling Brother's Barnum and Bailey circus Sunday morning!! So excited for both of these!! :) I still need to finalize an outfit for Dallas for pics, maybe I'll try again tomorrow. He has some pretty cute things to choose from. I can't wait for an exciting, fulfilled weekend. My boys are already sawing logs, time for this mama to get some rest!! Good night all!
